I thought it is very useful to place all of the English consonant phonemes in a chart.
Different places of articulation are arranged from left to right and the manners of articulation are arranged from top to bottom. There are phonemes with the same place and manner of articulation but differing in whether they are voiceless or voiced. In this situation the symbol for the voiceless consonant is placed to the left of the symbol for the voiced consonant.
