“In four skills learning English, I think listening skill is the most difficult. You can speak English well or you are expert in writing and reading English but listening skill maybe not because of 3 main reasons below:
1. The first reason, When you listen English, this is a strange voice that you have not ever heard before. To hear and understand English, You must practice day by day until it become familiar with you. In addition, you must pronounce English correctly so that you can hear what people say?
2. The second reason, about Vietnamese education, In school, teachers have just focused to teaching grammar or reading and forgotten to teach how to speak, listen English well. Even English teachers in undergraduate degree also speak and pronounce English not well. Hence, their students are too.
3. The last reason is the way of practicing to listen of Vietnamese students. When we practice to listen English, we try to understand fully each of word in paragraph and If we can’t understand or hear anything about paragraph, we will be boring and don’t want to hear any more. Consequently, we have been still deaf with English.”
